Tetraselmis suecica is a green microalga from the Mediterranean, cultivated in closed systems. It is rich in carotenoids and amino acids, and its effect is directed at the scalp's sebum production.

An oily scalp is rarely about washing too rarely. The sebaceous glands simply produce too much, and washing too often and too harshly only pushes production higher still. The extract slows the enzymes that govern sebum formation, so the amount drops at the source instead of being washed away again and again.
