Help and FAQ

Shampoo: Apply 4-5 pumps to wet hair, massage thoroughly into the scalp, and rinse. Feel free to repeat.

Conditioner: Apply to lengths and ends, leave in for 1-2 minutes, and rinse thoroughly. For extra care, leave it in for up to 10 minutes as a treatment.

Scalp serum: Apply to a dry or slightly damp scalp, massage for 20-30 seconds, and leave in.

Use them as your hair and scalp need. Most people wash their hair every two or three days, but the products are gentle enough for daily use. We recommend using the scalp serum daily, morning or evening, for the best results.

Give the products 1-2 months before you judge the effect. Some results are noticeable right away, while others take time, especially if your hair is transitioning from products with sulfates and silicones. Keep up the daily use once results appear so they last.

All products keep for 6 months after opening. Because the products are freshly blended with natural ingredients and mild preservation, the shelf life is shorter than traditional hair care, but plenty for normal use.

The color of your product is determined by the ingredient composition of your personal formula. Natural ingredients can change color, for example with temperature fluctuations, without affecting the effect. If you have updated your hair profile since your last order, the product may also differ in color from before because the composition has changed.

The declaration for your specific products is in the folder included in your package and on your profile at lulab.com. You can also read about all our ingredients and their effects on our ingredients page.

Press the pump head and the tube together until they lock. If it is tricky, try turning the tube the other way. If the pump is locked, hold the pump chamber with one hand and turn the pump head with the other. You can also screw the pump tightly onto the bottle first so it does not turn along when you unlock it.

Yes. Choose the “300 ml (u. pumpe)” variant (without pump) when you order and the product is 4 DKK cheaper. The pumps last a long time, so you can reuse the pump from your previous bottle. That saves both plastic and money.

Our scalp serum is a customized leave-in treatment for the scalp, a kind of mask that stays in. You choose up to 3 of 6 scalp goals: increased hair growth, healthy scalp, less irritation, more moisture, anti-dandruff, or less oily scalp. Based on your goals, we blend the serum with natural actives with documented effect.

Apply the serum in lines across the scalp with the dosing tip and massage it in for 20-30 seconds. Use it daily, morning or evening, preferably after showering. The effect depends on your goal: moisture can be felt within days, while increased hair growth requires up to 3 months of daily use. Keep using it once results appear.

The gift box is a personal gift for someone you care about, or for yourself. The serum is blended from our two most popular scalp goals, healthy scalp and increased hair growth, and the box can be personalized with a name and bottle color. The serum is of course vegan and fragrance free.

Yes, you can. Every ingredient in our products is safe to use, and the products are formulated in accordance with the EU Cosmetics Regulation, which is among the strictest in the world.

We use no parabens, sulfates, silicones or mineral oils, and colorants are only included when they serve a functional purpose.

We recommend choosing your products without fragrance. Many people find their scalp becomes more sensitive during pregnancy and that the condition of their hair changes. Fragrance is an option you are free to leave out with us.

Start by choosing your product without fragrance. Perfume is the most common cause of contact allergy in cosmetics, and with us fragrance is an option you are free to leave out.

If you know the substance you react to, you can look it up on this page under its INCI name, which is the name printed on the ingredient list.

If you are unsure whether a particular substance is included in your specific formulation, write to us at contact@lulab.com before you order, and we will check it for you.

Yes. We use no sulfates, silicones, parabens or mineral oils.

Instead we cleanse with mild sugar- and coconut-based surfactants, and we replace the slip of silicones with plant-based polymers and esters that wash out again without building up residue in the hair.

Preservation is handled with mild substances such as potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate and fermented radish root, all of which are approved for certified natural cosmetics.

Yes, our products are 100 % vegan, and they are never tested on animals.

That includes the ingredients normally associated with animal origin. Keratin typically comes from wool, feathers or horn, but our keratin protein is made from soy and rice and mimics the structure of keratin.

Not individually. The composition is determined by your hair analysis, so the actives match the needs of your hair and scalp, and so the dosages work together in a stable formula.

You do choose the fragrance yourself, whether you want fragrance at all, and the color of the packaging.

If you have an allergy or an ingredient you need to avoid, write to us at contact@lulab.com before you order.

We select ingredients on two criteria: natural origin and scientifically documented effect.

Some are Danish. Our activated charcoal and red willow bark extract are both made from organic red willow grown in North Jutland. Others come from specialized European producers, because that is where the research and the raw material quality are.

Production itself takes place in Allerød, where we blend, pack and ship everything ourselves.

No, not yet. Most certification schemes require a fixed formula that can be approved, and because our products are blended individually for each customer, there is no single formula to certify. Instead we follow the EU Cosmetics Regulation, among the strictest in the world, and hold all our ingredients to the same standards a certification would.

Yes. Fragrance is optional with us, not something that comes automatically. You choose your fragrance from our fixed scents when you customize your products, and the fragrance is the same across the products in your order.

You also choose the intensity in three steps. That matters if you love a scent but prefer it subtle, or if you use several products in a row and do not want them layering on top of each other.

You can also opt out of fragrance entirely.

Yes. You can opt out of fragrance in all of our products.

If you leave fragrance out, no perfume appears in your ingredient list. Perfume is the most common cause of contact allergy in cosmetics, so it is worth considering if you have a sensitive scalp, known fragrance allergies, or are pregnant.

The product is not entirely odorless. It will carry the faint natural scent of its own ingredients, which varies with the formulation, but no fragrance has been added.

No, not within the same order. You choose one fragrance that runs through all the products in your order, so the scents do not mix or compete. You can, however, switch fragrance from order to order if you feel like trying something new.

Click “Bestil LULAB” (Order LULAB) and use the “Tilpas” (Customize) link to choose a new fragrance. The change is saved automatically to your profile. You can also click “Rediger hårprofil” (Edit hair profile) and retake the hair analysis if you want to change other parts of your formula at the same time.

Then you are covered by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your products at contact@lulab.com and you can return them. Consider a lower fragrance intensity or a different scent for your next order.

No, not at the moment. If you are unsure, we recommend choosing your fragrance at low intensity, and should the scent disappoint, you are always covered by our satisfaction guarantee.

Each brush is handmade in France from European olive wood. The Care Brush series has 100% first-cut boar bristles, in No C2 combined with bio-based nylon pins for thicker hair. The Detangling Brush series has bio-based nylon bristles in varying lengths. Finally, we laser engrave the brush with your name or initials in our lab in Allerød.

It depends on your hair and your needs. The Care Brush is your daily care brush: the boar bristles distribute the scalp's natural oils from root to tip for shine and softness. The Detangling Brush is your detangler, gently loosening tangles and knots in both wet and dry hair.

Choose the No 1 models for fine and medium hair and the No 2 models for coarse or curly hair. Many combine the two in our brush bundle: the Detangling Brush for detangling and the Care Brush for daily care.

Remove loose hairs from the brush a few times a week, preferably with a comb. When the bristles need a deeper clean, rinse them with lukewarm water and a little mild shampoo, rinse gently, and let the brush dry bristles down. Avoid soaking the olive wood, and do not let the brush dry in direct sunlight or on a hot radiator.

You enter your name or initials when you order the brush, and we laser engrave the text into the olive wood in our lab in Allerød before the brush is shipped to you. The engraving is included in the price and makes your brush entirely personal.

Yes. Our 100% satisfaction guarantee also covers the hairbrushes, even though they are engraved for you. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 30 days of receipt at contact@lulab.com and we will send you a return label.

We only produce what has been ordered, avoiding overproduction and waste. Our ingredients are natural with scientifically documented effect, and we use no sulfates, silicones, parabens, or mineral oils. The packaging is produced in the EU and is recyclable, the boxes are sized to minimize packing material, and all paper is FSC certified.

Bottle and label: 100% recyclable PET plastic. Pump: 48% recycled plastic (PCR) and 52% PP plastic with a metal spring. Cap: 100% recyclable PP plastic. Box: 100% recyclable FSC certified cardboard. Tube: 100% recyclable FSC certified paper.

The bottle, label, and cap are sorted as plastic. The pump goes in general waste because of the metal spring, but you can reuse it for your next bottles if you order without a pump. The box is sorted as cardboard and the tube as paper, or you can give it a new life at home.
