Sunflower Sprout Extract

The extract comes not from the sunflower's seed but from the sprout, the early stage where the seed has just begun to grow. That is a deliberate choice. At the moment of sprouting the plant mobilizes everything it has in enzymes, amino acids and antioxidants in order to build itself, and the concentration of actives is therefore markedly higher than in the finished seed.

Those substances are used here to repair chemically treated hair. Bleaching, perming and coloring break the sulfur bridges that hold the hair's keratin structure together, leaving the strand porous and weak. The sprout extract enters the weakened zones and helps rebuild that cohesion.

At the same time, working with the tannin part of the formula, it forms a protective layer on the outside of the hair that captures free radicals and makes it harder for city air particles to lodge. The result is stronger hair with renewed shine, better protected against new damage.
