Dandruff is in most cases caused by a yeast called Malassezia. It lives quite naturally on everyone's scalp, but when conditions become too favorable it multiplies, breaks down the sebum and leaves behind substances that irritate the skin. The scalp responds by shedding skin cells far too quickly, and those are the visible flakes.

Propanediol Caprylate goes straight for the yeast. It is 100 % bio-based, built from propanediol from corn and caprylic acid from coconut, and it inhibits Malassezia's growth just as effectively as traditional anti-dandruff agents such as zinc pyrithione and climbazole.
