CAMELLIA OLEIFERA SEED OIL

Camellia seed oil is pressed from the seeds of the tea camellia and is a classic ingredient in Japanese hair care. It is unusually rich in oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid with a small molecule that can penetrate into the hair shaft itself rather than only sitting on top. That is why it does not weigh hair down the way heavier oils do.

Inside the shaft it fills the lipid gaps that open up through coloring and heat styling, and on the outside it smooths the cuticle, making hair less susceptible to humidity.

For curls and waves that means a clearer, more defined curl that does not frizz out. For colored hair, the tighter cuticle means pigments stay put longer. And for every hair type: less resistance in the brush and more natural shine.
