Wheat Germ Extract

TRITICUM VULGARE GERM EXTRACT

The wheat germ is the grain's sprout, the small part that becomes a new plant. All the building blocks are therefore concentrated right there: proteins, amino acids, vitamins and minerals at a concentration the rest of the grain does not come close to.

Unlike wheat germ oil, which contributes fatty acids, the extract is the water-soluble part. The peptides and amino acids in it are small enough to penetrate the hair shaft, where they bind to the keratin structure and fill in where coloring and heat have left hair porous.

Once the shaft is filled from within, it behaves differently. It draws less moisture from the air and therefore frizzes less, curls fall into a more consistent shape, and color pigments have fewer gaps to seep out through. Hair also becomes easier to detangle.
