Guar gum comes from the beans of the guar bush, grown in India and Pakistan, and is used worldwide as a thickener in everything from ice cream to baked goods. Here it has been given a slight positive charge, and that completely changes how it behaves in hair.

Damaged hair carries a negative charge, and the more worn the strand, the stronger that charge. The positively charged guar is therefore drawn precisely to the areas that need help most, and leaves healthy hair alone. There it forms a thin, plant-based film that lets strands glide past one another instead of catching on each other.

The effect is most noticeable when hair is wet and at its most vulnerable: the brush glides through, tangles loosen, and you break off fewer strands. It is a fully plant-based alternative to silicone and rinses clean without building up residue.
