GLUCOSE

Glucose is the simplest sugar there is and one of the most effective humectants in nature. The molecule is small enough to penetrate the skin rather than only sitting on top, and it carries five water-binding groups that hold on to moisture once it is down there.

In the scalp it works alongside the other sugars in the formula. Where the larger molecules hold water at the surface, glucose goes deeper and stimulates the skin's own production of the lipids the barrier is built from. A tighter barrier means less moisture escapes again.

Glucose is also nourishment for the beneficial bacteria living on the scalp and therefore supports a healthy microbiome. The result is a softer, better hydrated scalp and hair that feels supple from the root.
