Fireweed Extract

EPILOBIUM ANGUSTIFOLIUM FLOWER/LEAF/STEM EXTRACT

Fireweed is a tall, pink flower that grows wild on open ground across the Nordic region. The extract is obtained from flower, leaves and stem.

Dandruff is rarely caused by dry skin alone. Most often a yeast is involved, one that feeds on the sebum in the scalp and multiplies when there is plenty of it. Fireweed extract goes after the cause from two directions: it slows the growth of the very microorganisms that trigger dandruff, and it regulates sebum production so the yeast has less to live on.

At the same time the extract calms the inflammatory state that causes itching and redness. The result is a calmer scalp with markedly less flaking and a better balanced microbiome, without having to resort to harsh anti-dandruff agents.
