PHOSPHOLIPIDS

Phospholipids are the molecules every living cell membrane is built from, here derived from soy. They have an unusual property: one end of the molecule is attracted to water, the other to fat. That lets them bridge two things that normally will not mix.

In hair this means they form a continuous film around every individual strand, a film that simultaneously holds moisture in and repels water vapor from outside. That is the key to frizz-free hair. Frizz occurs when dry hair draws moisture in from the air and swells unevenly.

The film is flexible rather than rigid, which is why curls become more defined instead of stiff. Unruly, dry hair becomes easier to manage, the ends hold together, and hair feels soft and well-moisturized rather than lacquered.
