BEHENAMIDOPROPYL DIMETHYLAMINE

This is the ingredient doing the work when your conditioner works. It is made from behenic acid, a fatty acid from rapeseed, and it is LULAB's alternative to the quaternary ammonium compounds and silicones traditionally used to soften hair.

It is built a little differently from classic conditioning agents: it only becomes active when it meets a mild acid in the formula. That means it binds only where the hair is actually damaged and negatively charged, typically in the lengths and ends, instead of weighing down the whole head. The roots do not go flat, and hair does not build up residue over time.

The result is hair that is easy to detangle both wet and dry, feels soft and smooth, and keeps its body. It is also readily biodegradable.
