Amla Extract

PHYLLANTHUS EMBLICA FRUIT EXTRACT

Amla, or Indian gooseberry, is a small sour fruit and one of nature's richest sources of vitamin C, with roughly twenty times as much as an orange. The extract is the active component of Kerascalp™.

Its modern contribution concerns a protein called collagen XVII. It sits at the base of the hair follicle and holds the stem cells in place, and the amount of it declines as we age. When collagen XVII disappears, the follicle loses its stem cells, hair grows out thinner and pigmentation fades. It is one of the best documented mechanisms behind both hair loss and graying, and amla stimulates production of exactly this protein.

At the same time the extract moisturizes and strengthens the scalp, so the follicles sit in a healthier environment. The result is stronger follicles, more vigorous hair growth and glossier hair, with fewer visible signs of hair aging.
