Pea sprout extract is obtained from pea seeds that have been set to germinate. At that stage the plant mobilizes all its growth signals at once, and those are exactly what the extract captures. It is the active component of AnaGain™.

Hair grows in cycles. There is a growth phase normally lasting several years, a short transition phase, and a resting phase where the hair eventually falls out. In hair loss the growth phase shortens and the resting phase lengthens, so more hairs sit in the phase where they are on their way out. Pea sprout extract activates the dermal papilla cells at the base of the follicle and extends the growth phase, so hair stays on the head longer before it lets go.
